LAPD L.A. Sheriff thinks M:I:3 is a bomb; critics reserving judgment

Paramount‘s newspaper promotion for “Mission: Impossible 3” has gone haywire: An arson squad has blown up a Los Angeles Times newspaper rack over the weekend, thinking it contained a bomb.

Per the AP,

“the rack was fitted with a digital musical device designed to play the “Mission: Impossible” theme song when the door was opened. But in some cases, the red plastic boxes with protruding wires were jarred loose and dropped onto the stack of newspapers inside, alarming customers.”

If this is how the LAPD </strike L.A. County Sheriff’s Department responds to a bomb, we can hardly wait to see Kenny Turan‘s review.
