No "Wardrobe" malfunction here: "Narnia" spanks U's monkey
Variety reports that after getting roughed up by the simian last weeking, Disney’s “Chronicles” responded by defiantly crying, “Get your hands of me you damn, dirty ape!”:
“Eking out a win after a weekend in which the bowing “King Kong” thoroughly defeated it, Disney and Walden’s “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” grossed $5 million Wednesday. That was barely ahead of $4.9 million for U’s “Kong.” With kids out of school, “Narnia” is getting a second wind that should make for a very competitive Christmas weekend between the two tentpoles.”
