NEW YORK Citibank has decided to move its estimated $12 million out-of-home assignment to WPP Group’s Mediaedge:cia from incumbent Aegis’ Outdoor Vision, both New York, a representative for the banking giant said.

Citibank declined to say what prompted the change. “We periodically like to review our various advertising services,” the representative said. The move does not affect the bank’s relationship with Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis, MN., the representative said, noting that “Mediaedge will work with Fallon on our out-of-home advertising.”

Mediaedge:cia officials could not be reached for comment.

Citibank will spend an estimated $70 million on media this year. In 2001, the bank spent $105 million on advertising, per CMR.
