Build More Effective Mobile Ads

Verve Mobile recently conducted a survey to find what is important to include in your ever-more-prevalent mobile ads.

The ability for the ad to be saved and accessed later ranked highest at 46 percent of mobile users aged 14 to 29, compared to a coupon or offer being added to the user’s mobile wallet, which garnered 40 percent. These features are important to implement together, as they can bolster each other’s success. If a prospect forgets about a saved ad, a mobile wallet coupon increases the chances they will be reminded to act at a later date.

To further reduce the chance of your ad being forgotten, link it directly to where it can be purchased. Thirty-three percent of those surveyed agreed: Efficiency is important in our fast-paced, distracted lives.

Forty-five percent of respondents said a perfect mobile ad would entail a safety “seal of approval” — this is where your endorsements, awards and BBB ratings benefit you. A note of familiarity and assurance could convince hesitant prospects to become customers.

Customization is an effective quality in mobile ads, said 39 percent of respondents. But with the holiday season coming up, this is also the safest time of the year to expand your targeting: Consider including thumbnails of unrelated categories beneath your targeted material to catch the eye of holiday gift-givers.

A top priority should be given to the 33 percent who said social media sharing capability is important. If one-third of your ad-viewers are willing to share those they like, you benefit from free extra marketing for minimal investment.
