Another Missouri Police Force Has Press Problems
A window into a different time...the present day.
Parma, Missouri is a sleepy little town. It probably includes a feed mill, one stop light, and a group of dancing high school “outlaws” to compliment its 700-plus residents. Or maybe that’s another place.
Thanks to this report from KFVS-12 (CBS, Paducah-Cape Girardeau-Harrisburg-Mt Vernon), we learned from outgoing Parma Mayor Randall Ramsey that five out of six police officers resigned, effectively immediately.
For context, Ramsey’s heir-apparent, Tyrus Byrd, happens to be the city’s first-ever elected African-American Mayor. From resident Martha Miller:
“I think it was pretty dirty the way they all quit without giving her a chance, but I don’t think they hurt the town with quitting because who needs six police for 740 people?”
