Canadian Sikhs Seek to Change Public Image, Address Discrimination

It’s not just companies and famous people that have to worry about how the public perceives them. The National Post explains how a group of Canadian Sikhs are putting together a report on “the lives and contributions of Sikhs across the country” in an effort to counter negative public labeling.

The Toronto Star online quotes Manohar Singh Bal, spokesperson for the newly formed group, as saying the community’s image is “tarnished.”

We as a community need to look at all this and say, how can we make a new beginning?

The group held a news conference last week explaining the plan, and aims to release the report in 2013.
