Agere Systems, the microchip and fiber-optic component spinoff of Lucent Technologies, will break its inaugural TV, print and outdoor branding campaign on April 30.
Mullen, Wenham, Mass., won Agere’s $20-$25 million account last December. The campaign follows a mandatory 21-day waiting period after Agere’s March 28 IPO. Hitting the market during a slump, Agere’s stock closed at $6.02 a share on its opening day, a rise of just 2 cents. The $6 opening price was a far cry from Lucent’s $15-$20 target.
