Most golf advertising features a well-known pro urging weekend duffers to use this club or that ball because they work for him.
DDB Needham Chicago’s new TV and print work introducing Wilson Sporting Goods’ Double TI golf ball features a Labrador retriever.
“It can sit, work left, work right, even back up,” says the TV voiceover and print headline, playing off golf jargon about ball movement. “It could be your newest best friend.”
The TV spot, which shows the dog from behind making the appropriate moves, ends with an image that doubles as the print executions’ visual: the black Lab with a golf ball in its mouth.
