Guinness wins big; new categories for D&AD
Diversity marked the British Design and Art Direction Awards this year, says David Kester, CEO of the D&AD, which hosted its ceremony in London last week. “There are no themes,” he says, pointing to the contrast between the outrageous humor of Fox’s The X Show spots, boasting, “What men are really thinking,” and the blockbuster special effects of Guinness’ “Surfer.”
Of note, Guinness’ work swept the event, garnering all eight of the awards given to Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, London.
