Booktwo.org has a great piece on Cassava Republic, a Nigerian imprint from Abuja, Nigeria, that aims to introduce African readers to local writers.

The publisher is challenged with running a print production business in a third world country as Booktwo.org reports, “Cassava faces all the usual pressures of a small publisher in a developing industry: poor or almost total lack of design, typesetting and printing services, non-existent distribution channels, a lack of an established network of booksellers and readers.”
