Nomad Editions to Debut Weekly Mobile Mini-Magazine

New York startup Nomad Editions will debut a weekly digital magazine specifically targeted to mobile devices, with a mini-magazine mobile application delivered each week and providing 20-30 minutes’ worth of content on a specific subject, The New York Times reported.

Nomad Editions will be released on Fridays starting in October, and its editorial staff includes former Newsweek president Mark M. Edmiston, who told the Times, “The fact is that people are reading on their iPads. They’re reading a different way.”

As for its staff, the Times reports that writers will earn up to 30 percent of subscription revenue per edition, per week, while editors will make 5 percent of that revenue, along with an additional cut of advertising dollars.
