"The Daily" iPad e-Newspaper Trial Period Extended to March 9 Now

When News Corps’ The Daily iPad news app launched on February 3, it provided a free two-week trail period to help potential customers decide if the app and its news content was worth a 99 cent one-week subscription or a $39.99 one-year subscription. That two week trial period ended last week Thursday (Feb. 17). However, my subscription-less The Daily is still receiving content. The app’s Account Information section reports that my unpaid trial subscription is good through March 9. So, what’s going on? paidContent.org’s Staci D. Kramer reports that:

Clayman: The Daily’s Free Trial Run Will Continue

News Corp. decided to extend the trial until their app’s major bugs are squashed. As much as I’ve enjoyed the app and its content, I still haven’t decided if I will plunk down some of my dwindling cash. The main reason is that despite what I consider to be interesting content and excellent photography, I have not been reading The Daily on a daily basis. Part of the reason is that the app takes too long to start up and then refresh its content.
