Christopher J. Fra-leigh’s experience in field marketing will be key in his new role as executive director of corporate marketing and advertising at General Motors, a representative for the automaker said.

Fraleigh, known as “CJ,” joins the Detroit automaker from the Pepsi-Cola Co.’s Purchase, N.Y., headquarters, where he was vice president of marketing-colas, responsible for all marketing, advertising, and business activities for Pepsi’s trademark brands.

Fraleigh, whose position is new, reports to John Middlebrook, GM vice president and general manager, vehicle brand marketing and corporate advertising.
