Instagram now allows users to choose between two formats when remixing a Reel on the photo- and video-sharing application. Users can have their Remix appear alongside the original video, and they can also have their video appear after the original video.

Our guide will show you how to add your remix to the end of a Reel in the Instagram app.

Note: These screenshots were captured in the Instagram app on iOS.

Step 1: Tap the three dots on the Reel you want to Remix.

Step 2: Tap “Remix.”

Step 3: Tap “After original video.”

Step 4: By default, the entire duration of the original video will be included in your Remix, but you can use the trimmer at the bottom of the screen to choose only a portion of the video to include, if you’d like. When you’re done selecting the portion you want to Remix, tap “Next” in the top-right corner of the screen.

Now, you can record your own clip(s) and continue editing your Remix as you normally would.
