Nextdoor-like feature Facebook Neighborhoods is heading south, crossing the border with Canada and kicking off testing in 132 U.S. cities.

An early test of Facebook Neighborhoods in Calgary, Alberta, was spotted last October by Calgary-based social media strategist Leon Grigg of Grigg Digital and shared by social media consultant Matt Navarra.

The social network expanded the tests of Neighborhoods to more areas in Canada in May, saying at the time that the feature would soon be brought to the U.S.

Neighborhoods is a section of the flagship Facebook mobile application, with a profile that is separate from the user’s regular Facebook profile.
