Facebook head of content strategy Matthew Henick provided more details on the Facebook Watch version of MTV’s The Real World, which was unveiled at Mipcom 2018 last October by MTV Studios and Bunim/Murray Productions.
Henick was speaking at a press event to unveil Facebook Showcase, the social network’s new upfront-style ad buying offering for premium content on Facebook Watch.
There will be three separate seasons of The Real World—in the U.S., Mexico and Thailand—and each will be a native production for the audience in its country.
Fans will be able to vote on the seventh and final cast members of each edition via polls on The Real World Facebook page, with voting starting for the U.S.
