Twitter has been cited as a top 10 business by millennials, with one in five using the social network to follow their favourite brands.

There are more than 70 million millennials (aka, Generation Y – those born up to the early 2000s) in the U.S., with a combined purchase power of $170 billion. More than half (55 percent) watch videos several times a day on one of the more than seven devices they typically have access to.

Product quality is the number one brand characteristic for millennials, and almost three in five (59 percent) Like brands on Facebook, compared to 20 percent who follow brands on Twitter. One recent study listed Twitter, Facebook and Instagram as top brands with millennials, who say that they are fine with native ads… just as long as they are not deceptive.
