While At The Circus, Remember To Stick To Your Goals

If you’re going, the planning process starts now: figure out who you want to meet and schedule a time to chat ahead of time. “I know that sounds basic, but you have to be very specific about your goals,” says Melissa Fireman, a Washington, D.C.-based career counselor. “If networking is a goal, what specifically are you networking for?” Write down your goals, print out the schedule and attendee list ahead of time, and take the planning process seriously, Fireman says.
Are you going? Connect with fellow attendees on Facebook to let them know where you’ll be and when so you can share job-searching gripes over coffee (or a martini).
