The combination of social distancing, the lack of live sports and the suspension of production on some television shows has led to binge-watching of other shows that have already been released.
Twitter shared some data on what users have been watching and tweeting about over the past 10 days, saying that there were 2.25 times more tweets about re-watching and bingeing during that time period compared with the average for February.
The top 10 shows mentioned on Twitter over the past 10 days were:
- The Walking Dead
- Tiger King
- Schitt’s Creek
- Westworld
- Little Fires Everywhere
- Orange Is the New Black
- Grey’s Anatomy
- Friends
- 100 Humans
- Feel Good
Twitter also said the states with the highest per-capita rate of talking about re-watching and binging are those with formal shutdowns.
