War Of The (Guns And) Roses: Garden & Gun Vs. The NRA

Garden & Gun is facing a bit of animosity from the NRA’s America’s First Freedom magazine after declining to run an ad for the latter title. The NRA, Folio: reports, accused Garden & Gun of making a politically-charged reaction that was not in the best interest of its readers. Garden & Gun responded by saying that it does not run political ads at all, regardless of affiliation.

Says Garden & Gun CEO Rebecca Darwin:

From the beginning, we’ve had a policy of not accepting any political or advocacy advertisement, and in our view this ad fell into that category. The idea that this was controversial is taken out of context as we are, in fact, members of the NRA and clearly run favorable ads of guns and hunting in every issue.
