Twitter Updates Their Homepage Design

Twitter has announced that they are testing a new design for the Twitter homepage. The new design is a lot cleaner, shows trending topics, popular users and more. Twitter will be monitoring data on the new page to determine which features users like. It’s a relatively significant upgrade for a company which hasn’t had any dramatic homepage changes since early on.

The new design focuses on more dynamic content on the front page. Users can see a sample of Twitter users, their latest tweets and the big, popular topics. It looks like tweets related to trending topics are highlighted first, and Twitter explains that it now features “algorithmically-selected top tweets that automatically appear every few seconds.” When you hover over profiles, you also see more information about the user.
