Tweeting a Starbucks Coffee Is Now a Thing

Twitter and Starbucks are letting consumers send each other coffee gifts via a tweet.

Want to get in good graces with a Twitter pal? Type "@tweetacoffee to" and then the Twitter handle of the recipient before sending your tweet. At first the gifts are limited to $5, but, if the pilot is successful, Starbucks will likely expand the possibilities. 

To participate, consumers must sync their Starbucks, Twitter and credit card accounts. To encourage activity among Visa members, the initial 100,000 folks who sync their cards from that credit firm will get a $5 gift card for themselves after they tweet a gift to someone.
