Say what you will about Hollywood being full of spinmeisters. At least there’s still Paul Brooks at Gold Circle.
Of “Slither”‘s eighth-place weekend finish, Brooks told the Hollywood Reporter, “We were crushingly disappointed.”
With such good reviews, what the hell happened?
The THR‘s Borys Kit asks exactly that question, and elicits a remarkably frank reply:
Brooks’ answer:
‘I think that because it was comedy-horror instead of pure horror is where the problem lay,’ Brooks said. ‘It’s the first comedy-horror in a long time, and maybe the marketplace just isn’t ready for comedy-horror yet.
