Two political veterans joined Edelman’s Washington, D.C. office: former National Security Council spokesperson/Obama administration advisor Caitlin Hayden and campaign veteran Matt Seaholm. Hayden, who worked with Obama as special assistant, will be SVP of the media and technology practice while Seaholm will be VP of public affairs, acting to help clients address what the release calls “federal, state and local policy fights.” (Release)

Agricultural giant ConAgra Foods signed former Meredith Viera Show Jon Harris as its new chief communications officer. He joins the company from Hillshire Brands, where he served as communications leader. (PR Week)

Three-time Emmy Award-winning producer and former talent booker of ABC’s Windy City Live – Emerald-Jane Hunter – joined Henson Consulting (HC) this week as the agency’s first director of Media and Content Development. In this new role, Hunter will provide strategic counsel and support for  clients representing a variety of categories including national consumer packaged goods, hospitality, entertainment, corporate, technology and education brands.
