Washingtonpost.com is looking for an assistant managing editor to oversee our 24-hour breaking news operation. The AME of breaking news will work closely with Washingtonpost.com staff as well as the newspaper’s Continuous Newsdesk and web liaisons to shape our around-the-clock coverage plans. In addition, the AME of breaking news will be responsible for tracking long-term projects for the site and creating plans for home page promotion. We are looking for a strong manager who can work with his or her deputies on the day, night, overnight and weekend teams to manage an 18-member staff directly responsible for producing the home page throughout the day and rebuilding the site overnight.
