Media Matters for America, the progressive media-watchdog group, has upped Angelo Carusone to president. Carusone, who had been executive vice president, replaces Bradley Beychok, who moves to a new role as senior adviser and chief of staff to Media Matters founder David Brock. Carusone also served as the deputy CEO, finance and administration, for the 2016 Democratic National Convention Committee.

Carusone’s appointment comes with a bit of a shift in mission for the organization, which describes its role as “systematically monitoring a cross section of print, broadcast, cable, radio, and Internet media outlets for conservative misinformation,” particularly Fox News.
