Make-A-Wish Meets LA Kings

FBLA is a media partner Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles. We will be bringing you stories all season long about the children the organization assists.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Los Angeles partnered with the Los Angeles Kings to grant the wish of a 6-year-old wish child, Will McLeod, who wished to meet Kings team captain, Dustin Brown. On Dec. 10, Will and his family spent the day with Brown at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo that included a tour of the training facility and ice time with the #23 and the team goalie, Jonathan Bernier. The next day, Will and his family attended the game where the LA Kings took on the Minnesota Wild and although the Kings lost in overtime, it was a special evening for everyone involved. As part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation’s 2010 Season of Wishes® campaign, the Kings also donate a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales from the Dec. 11 game to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles.

Prior to the Dec. 11 game, Will and his family, as well as Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Los Angeles representatives participated in AEG’s Season of Giving initiative at L.A. Live, a program that honors different charities and nonprofit organizations throughout the holiday season.
