Bicoastal Pair Lining Up New Literary Magazine

Coming in September, quarterly publication Exploded View is the brainchild of former Vice magazine editor Jesse Pearson and writer-novelist Sam McPheeters (pictured). Pearson is based in New York, while McPheeters – who has also previously contributed to Vice – will work on the venture from LA.

Owners of an iPad should not expect to be able to access the magazine’s mix of humor, fiction, interviews, investigative reporting and more. As Pearson tells capitalnewyork.com’s Joe Pompeo, it’s going to be print… all the way:

“We wanted Exploded View to be a print magazine for probably the same reasons that most people who still do independent print magazines would cite: The beauty of the object, the tactility, the sense of permanence,” Pearson wrote in a follow-up email.
