EXCLUSIVE - Warner Bros. to Mark Gill: "Good night, and good luck."
Despite the runaway success of “March of the Penguins” (the second-highest grossing doc of all time) and the prestigious-if-not-exactly-a-blockbuster “Good Night, and Good Luck,” (Box office: $31 million) we hear that Warner Independent Pictures president Mark Gill is being thrust aside to make room for Warner Bros. Pictures exec Polly Cohen.
That’s right, ladies and gentlemen: Cohen, the executive who supervised that epochal moment in American cinema, “Scooby Doo,” is to be in charge of running Warner’s specialized film division.
If Gill was fired, a more blatant grudge could not be more in evidence: Jeff Robinov, the production chief of Warner Bros.
