Elle Magazine To Launch iPad App Featuring Customizable Fashion

Elle magazine is the latest among the recent parade of magazines to launch an iPad application. They’re giving their version a little extra bit of sparkle, however, by making it customizable (“Customization” is the new “shareability,” kids.)

The app, out mid-September to coincide with the magazine’s October print issue, will include a feature called Elle Personal Stylist, which functions, as Mediaweek describes it, as “an electronic take on the paper doll.” Users can drop items right from the issue onto their character to create their own outfits, which can then be saved onto inspiration boards. The iPad app, which will also include the ability to shuffle the table of contents, behind-the-scenes interviews, photo slides, a video version of the editor’s letter, will set users back $2.99 — $1.00 off the newsstand price.
