Economic Outlook: Mixed (Monster Index Up, Conference Board Down)

The Monster Employment Index jumped by 10 points in February, according to a news release from the company. It’s now at its highest level in over a year. “The fact that we are seeing a year-over-year increase in the Index may be an early indication that companies are stepping up recruiting efforts and will begin hiring again,” said Jesse Harriot, senior vice president and chief knowledge officer at Monster Worldwide in a statement.
