Dorothy Parker Still Lives At Bev Wilshire
The Los Angeles chapter of the Dorothy Parker Society will — what else? — have a drink at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel tonight, just a few minutes from one of Parker’s Beverly Hills houses.
Parker and her literate cronies would meet at the Beverly Wilshire each week to regale each other with witty repartee…or maybe just to eat. Her regular group included, among others, James Cagney, Sidney Skolsky, Robert Benchley, Clifford Odets, Gilbert Roland, Cedric Hardwicke and Peter Lorre.
