Cuts At The Washingtonian
The Washingtonian suffered its first round of layoffs last Friday. The self-proclaimed magazine that “Washington lives by” was forced to cut employees—mostly in the editorial division—due to the current economic climate.
In a recently published statement, President and Publisher Catherine Merrill Williams said,”While it pains me greatly, the layoffs were necessary for the long- term health of the magazine. We now have returned to our 2005 staffing levels and look forward to continuing our tradition of journalistic excellence.”
