Charles Bukowski Stamp Still Has a Shot

Good news on the Charles Bukowski stamp front…or bad news, considering it might mean Hank will spend an eternity in the post office. The U.S. Postal Service has accepted a proposal to consider putting Bukowski’s mug on a commemorative stamp.

Read the US Postal Service letter of acceptance here:

Backers of the stamp, who call Bukowski “the second most
famous American postal worker after Benjamin Franklin,” submitted a petition last March with over 1,000 signatures. However, that number fell well short of the 10,000 they were looking for.

The Bukowski stamp is up for one of 25 slots in the 2012 commemorative stamp series.
