Big Changes At Discovery Communications.
FishbowlDC has learned that Discovery Communications in Silver Spring, MD has drastically reduced its Discovery Education work force. One tipster tells FishbowlDC that they “laid off 42% of their education work force,” which equates to roughly 84 people.
We chatted with Discovery Communications spokesperson David Leavy yesterday and he confirmed that, while its company policy to not “comment on personnel actions,” “we did have a reorganization of our education group.”
“What we did was to consolidate the redundancies of both physical oocations and non-core functions.
