AP Announces a Pair of Washington Editorial Promotions

Kathleen Hennessey will be White House news editor and Bradley Klapper national security news editor

AP announced two promotions in its Washington bureau, placing Kathleen Hennessey into the role of White House news editor and Bradley Klapper into the role of national security news editor.

“The two of them were among the bureau’s top performing reporters, consistently breaking news and writing it beautifully,” wrote acting Washington bureau chief Wendy Benjaminson in a note to staff. “They have worked tirelessly since taking over as interim news editors on the most challenging stories of the day.”
