Amazon Moves Ahead With 5 Original Series

New shows will help company compete with Netflix, Hulu

Amazon will move ahead with five original TV series picked from the 14 pilots it released in April.

Based on user feedback for the pilots, the company will begin production on comedies Alpha House and Betas, along with kids' shows Annebots, Creative Galaxy and Tumbleaf, according to Reuters.

These mark the first shows ever produced by Amazon Studios as the Internet retail behemoth brings original content to its Instant streaming service in order to compete with Netflix and Hulu.
