Elle Taps Marie Claire Artistic Director to Replace Joe Zee

Alex Gonzalez also oversees Town & Country

Elle didn’t have to look very far to find a replacement for longtime creative director Joe Zee, who is decamping for Yahoo later this month. The Hearst glossy announced today that it had tapped Alex Gonzalez, the artistic director of Marie Claire and executive artistic director of Town & Country, to fill Zee’s role.

Gonzalez, who officially takes over at Elle next month, will retain his title at Town & Country. On top of that, he’s also the co-founder and executive creative director of branding agency AR New York, where he continues to work with “a select group of clients,” per Hearst.
