The emergence of audio features on larger social platforms, such as Twitter Spaces, may be starting to impact Clubhouse, as the social audio application experienced several layoffs and departures last week.

Ashley Carman of Bloomberg reported that Clubhouse executives who confirmed their departures via Twitter last week included head of community Anu Atluru, head of news partnerships Nina Gregory and head of international Aarthi Ramamurthy.

They follow head of sports partnerships Sean Brown, who left the company last month, and head of brand evangelism and development Stephanie Simon, who departed in April.

A spokesperson for Clubhouse said in a statement, “A few individuals have decided to pursue new opportunities, and a handful of roles were eliminated as part of streamlining our team.
