Subscription Offering Twitter Blue Debuts, but Only in Australia, Canada for Now

Twitter Blue, the long-rumored, first-ever subscription offering from Twitter, is finally available, but only in Australia and Canada, for now.

And while there has been speculation for years about Twitter and other social platforms experimenting with pay models that would give users access to ad-free feeds or exclusive content, the perks gained by ponying up for Twitter Blue are exclusively on the user experience side.

A spokesperson for Twitter told Adweek there are no plans for ad-free or exclusive content offerings for the time being, and the immediate focus is to learn what power users who are super-engaged with the platform would be willing to pay extra for.
