Reddit Begins Testing Live Chat in Chat Tab

The platform is also letting Redditors add text to all post types

Reddit is testing the addition of live chat to Redditors’ chat tabs, making that tab the single destination for all of a user’s chats on the platform.

Users in the test group will see three options to filter the view in their chat tab: live chats, messages (including one-on-one and group chats) and all chats.

Reddit said roughly one-half of its desktop web and iOS users are in the test group, adding in a blog post Tuesday, “Right now, when Redditors chat in live chat posts, there’s no easy way to jump back into those conversations.
