“We believe we’re in the business of helping publishers build readership for their benefit, not ours’. Period,” says Michael Biggerstaff, Nxtbook Media CEO. “This means we’re not interested in collecting e-mail addresses and selling competitive products to your readers. We want people to come to the Nxtstand, find what they’re looking for and immediately go to that publishers’ website.”

To enable a rapid and effective user experience, the Nxtstand allows readers to search by magazine title or keyword. Upon viewing their results, users can either preview the most recent digital edition of the publication or click on the subscribe link which will transfer the user directly to the publishers’ website.

All revenue from subscriptions earned goes to the individual publisher and because all subscription data is collected by the publisher, Nxtbook will not collect, share or market to any users of the system. Best of all, participation in the Nxtstand is free to all customers.

Biggerstaff acknowledges the Nxtstand represents a fundamental shift from competing products.

“When we meet with publishers, we hear many of the similar concerns: They want website traffic and they’re concerned about the privacy of their data. Yet, other products on the market seem to almost be in opposition to publishers. They steal traffic from their websites and then cross-market competing products to valuable subscribers. By offering the Nxtstand, we’re giving publishers a free and effective way to build both website traffic and digital circulation while keeping subscriber data to themselves.”
