Facebook will begin testing Facebook Reels, the parent company’s version of short-form Instagram Reels videos, with a small percentage of Android and iOS users in the U.S., starting Thursday (Aug. 19).

The social network had been running a similar test in Canada, India and Mexico, enabling users to share their existing Instagram Reels to Facebook, and that test will continue to run, as well.

Facebook users in the test group will see a Reels section in their News Feed, where they can tap the “Create” button to access tools similar to those on Instagram: camera roll import, music selection, timed text, video capture.

Audio options for Facebook Reels include recording original audio, tracks from Facebook’s music
