Clubhouse implemented a minor tweak late last week to the way users can invite other people to join, enabling them to bypass sharing their contacts with the audio conversation application.

Invites can now be shared simply by typing in someone’s phone number.

Sara Morrison of Vox pointed out that when users share their address books with Clubhouse, all of their contacts are notified that they are on Clubhouse. Conversely, if someone with a person’s phone number in their contacts shares their address book with the app, they will be notified if the holder of that phone number joins.
