CBS has tapped one of its sitcom stars to host the 73rd Emmy Awards, airing on its network this year.

Cedric the Entertainer will host this year’s ceremony, which will also feature a “limited” live audience after 2020’s remotely produced event. The Emmys will air Sunday, Sept. 19 on CBS and Paramount+.

The star of the CBS sitcom The Neighborhood is emceeing this year’s telecast, which will return to a live, in-person ceremony at L.A.’s Microsoft Theater featuring what CBS and the Television Academy are calling “a limited audience of nominees and their guests.”
