Richard Benedetto Retiring From USA Today

Legendary Washington reporter and USA Today White House Correspondent Richard Benedetto, a founding member of USA Today (heck, he even wrote their first cover story), will retire from the paper on September 15 after 35 years in journalism (see a recent interview he did with The Washington Examiner, and here for his recent book, “Politicians Are People, Too”). Benedetto will teach at American University.

Benedetto began his career in New York State at the Buffalo Evening News and moved to the Utica Daily Press, then Observer Dispatch, then Gannett News Service before joining USA Today in 1982.
