You’ve Got That Certain Spark

The School of Visual Arts MFA program is renowned for its unique mission: candidates must create a product that is not only commercially viable, but answers a higher social or environmental call. “Spark” is an ongoing exhibition of 21 such products, produced by the current graduates of the two-year program.

A reception on Monday will give you the chance to interact with this exceptional batch of talent, whose products includes a campaign to convert America to the metric system, a typeface especially for Korean graphic designers, a guide introducing high school students to design and an online luggage customization store. We especially like Jesse Willmon’s Commix, a kind of Mad Libs for graphic arty types, shown above.
