I think Max Weber would have a lot to say about the Sundance Film Festival in 2005.
That’s Max Weber, with whom Fishbowl LA was obsessed in (ahem) college. Weber was the first person in the Western world to think analytically about subcultures: how they subsume each other over the course of the history of a society.
And so, I think Max Weber would have a lot to say about the Sundance Film Festival in 2005. I think he would say that a once vibrant-but-annoying form of bourgeoise cultural expression (indie film) is fading and being subsumed by a new vibrant-but-annoying cultural form, which is to say, blogging.
