WSJ, USA Today Hit By New Marriott Newspaper Program

A revised newspaper policy at Marriott Hotels and its subsidiaries is estimated to cut subscriptions of the Wall Street Journal and USA Today by about 50,000 copies daily.

To cut waste and costs, the hotel giant will provide room delivery of either USA Today, WSJ or a local paper based on guest preference. Lower cost brands like Courtyard will have papers available in the lobby.

A source from USA Today told FBDC, the cuts are expected to decrease circulation of the newspaper by only a single digit percentage and that other content distribution projects with Marriott are in the works.
