WSJ Sells 3,200 iPad Subscriptions

The Wall Street Journal has sold more than 3,200 subscriptions to its iPad app since the device’s April 3 release date, says a memo from Journal managing editor Robert Thomson published by The Business Insider.

In the memo, Thomson called the sales numbers “superb” and “a tribute to the skill of our tech team and to the quality of Journal and Newswires journalism.” He also cited positive reviews from PCNews, Newsonomics, Appolicious and PadGadget.

The success is also somewhat remarkable given the price of the app.
